Honey from the Hood

That is just down right fun to say. I got this idea for the title after reading an article about a man in New Orleans that has a small honey bee business. This is the name of his business. Got to love it!!
As I have said over and over, I love honey bees. One of my favorite movies is "The Secret Life of Bees" and my favorite scenes in the movie is when they are out tending the hives. My dad has been a beekeeper for years and currently has one hive he rescued from the Raid can at a neighborhood home. It was exciting to see the little creatures survived the winter. Around here that is half the battle. The other half is this odd mystery of what is killing them by the millions. If we loose our bees, life as we know it will never be the same. Rather scary to think about. Think about that the next time you swat one or get out your can of bug spray. Leave them be (or bee).

This card is a bit busy. A lot going on. But bee hives usually do have a lot going on. If I could only be as efficent as the workings of a bee hive.
